Discovery Green

Discovery Green is a public park in Houston, Texas. It is located on the eastern edge of downtown Houston, at the corner of Avenida de las Americas and Rusk Street. The park consists of 12 acres (4.9 ha) of land, most of which is covered by a lush green lawn. The park also features gardens, a large lake with a pedestrian bridge, an outdoor amphitheater, restaurants, and numerous other amenities.


History

Discovery Green was developed as part of a wider effort to revitalize downtown Houston in the early 2000s. The park opened to the public in 2008. It has since become one of Houston's most popular destinations, attracting more than eight million visitors each year.
